  Yeah, and the anti-gay marriage Constitutional Convention in Massachusetts is evidence that they're backwards.
  There's nothing to be gained for progressives in tossing away entire regions of the country. One of the geniuses of Howard Dean (and Kucinich has spoken this way) was the attempt to reach across established divisions to find new allies.
