a good friend of mine, who is about as progressive-left as they come, informed me today that a relative was married to "Uncle Herbie"  that is, George Herbert Walker,  who was the bankroller for Bush I's efforts in business.

This firend had occasion to see and interact with member of both the bUsh and Walker families on occasion.   The friend informs me that Kelly is "right on" in her descriptions of the family, and gets it far better than any other outsider this friend has read.

As far as I have any knowledge, which is almost all from  public and published sources, Kelly is 100% right on.  I ahve about 40 pages left to go, and I have yet to find an error.

The book is selling   -- I have no idea what impact it will have on the election.  I can imagine a large number of selections make their way electronically around the net, posted on various lists and sent out via email.  I can also imagine that Howard Stern might choose to read aloud some of the more "interesting" passages.  Of course, he cannot use the lnaguage Kelly quotes Bush as using, even after he "found jesus"  -- she notes that there are those who ahve accused him of "using the Lord's name in vain" although she does not cite an example.

The man does have a temper  -- very much like his mother, whom Kelly completely unmasks.

Worth a read, but only if you don't ahve to pay full price   -- I got it for 40% off at Costco.
