"balance" does not mean that the RWCM is obliged to report both fact and untruth.

in your model the GOP could state that the city of sacramento is in the upper peninsula of michigan, and when democrats responded, "no, it's clearly in california" the press would be obliged to present a "balanced" case that gives the reader the impression that actually the city is probably somewhere in southern idaho.

that's a pretty warped idea of what the press is supposed to be doing in a democratic society.

and are you presenting the Clinton zeitgeist of deceit ... that Bush/Rove were forced to lie as a devil's advocate presentation of a possible republican position, or your own?  i must say it's pretty feeble in either case, setting up an equivalence between treason and lying about extramarital hijinks.  not to mention the fact that it reeks of moral relativism, which i can't stand.

we'd better decide now if we are going to be fearless men or scared boys.

    •  To be fair... (none)
I understand there is a kind of ghostly Sacramento at an undisclosed location in Idaho. Not everyone is able to see it, but according to reliable sources it's definitely out there somewhere.
    •  it's not just the press... (none)
...but when we allow the nutjobs among us to pass "intelligent design" off as legitimate, we're all guilty of warpedness.

you hit the nail on the head with the term "moral relativism."

    •  Sorry, my husband and I are both ROFLOL! (4.00)
My comment was meant to be a snark reflecting how stupidly the MSM has presented damned everything in the last five years.  In particular, I was being ironic about the Switfys and how disgusting the MSM was about presenting a balanced picture.  Sorry to have caused you any discomfort but my husband is loving the fact that the joke is on me.     ;-)
      •  oops. (none)
apologies.  'mando and i must be sarcasm impaired today. either that or your impersonation of winger dumbassitude is just too good.

perhaps we should sign you up as an infiltrator to their side...
