The soapblox network (google soapblox) is also trying to create communities for local politics. However, we don't know of any other site that does exactly what we do. We are thinking of perhaps attempting to try and create a sister site for perhaps California and/or Hawaii (to start with, anyway). We know our own region best, which is part of what makes Pacific NW Portal great - it's run by people who live, work, and engage in politics here.
