  •  Roberts is an old-style conservative (none / 0)

i.e., a liberal.  Liberals and old-style conservatives mainly agree on what is good and right, they just disagree on methods and timing.  Neo-cons are the fascists.

We are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god. When you understand why you dismiss all the other gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours.

    •  The more... (none / 1)

I read about and by the guy, I think he's generally a small "c" conservative in the mold of Kennedy and O'Connor, and almost assuredly not a big "c" Conservative in the mold of Rehnquist and Thomas.  And honestly, I don't object to a small "c" conservative being appointed to the Court (especially in this situation).
      •  My currrent read on the situation... (none / 0)

        Left---Right

Stevens, Ginsburg, Souter, Breyer, O'Connor, Kennedy, Roberts, Rehnquist, Scalia, Thomas.  What remains to be proven to me is that Roberts is on Rehnquist's left hand, not right, but even so, I don't see him as a Scalia-type.

      •  Florida 2000 Election Scandal & John Roberts! (none / 1)

Does it bother you that Roberts participated in throwing the 2000 election in Florida for GW Bush -- a thoroughly fraudulent election that resulted in a flood of harmful legislation and an invasion of a sovereign nation?  That invasion has cost hundreds of precious lives, both Iraqi, American, British, and others.  Anyone -- and Roberts was among them -- along with James Baker III et al., who caused Bush to be named "President" should not be promoted to the Supreme Court.  He must be held accountable.  They all must be held accountable.  They repeatedly get away with murder, literally.  It's wrong.  It's tragic.  Emphasize the Florida 2000 Presidential Election scandal.  It matters.
