    Democrats took donations from the victims of Abramoff.  Victims of the crimes that Abramaoff has pleaded guilty to.

    Abramoff.

    Abramoff pleaded guilty to crimes.

    Crimes.

    Victims of Abramoff's crimes also gave to Democrats.

    Indian tribes were victims.

    Abramoff has admitted so in a court of law.

    Abramoff will probably go to prison for victimizing the tribes.

    The tribes are the victims.

    Some of these tribes contributed to Democratic campaigns, but they have done so before Abramoff ever came along and I presume that they will continue to do so after he is gone, simply because Democrats are allies of the tribes and Republicans are White Nationalists who despise them.

      If she is not literally a whore for the Republicans, she is doing a lot of "charity work."  This is the most disgusting misrepresentation of the truth that I think I have read during this whole scandal.  Forgive me for the ad hominem, but how can I assume other than that she is a bad person?

        Even Howard Kurtz does not distort this nakedly on behalf of his conservative fellow-travels.  What this person has written is not only absolute drivel, not only nonsensical, but is also, taken in its entirety, a lie.

        What is she saying here?

        Sounds like:  "There is no evidence that Democrats are guilty of anything, but we all know what they are like and are confident that they will be eventually implicated."

        You cannot be serious.

        This is the ombudsman of one of the nation's "most serious" newspapers?  Does this woman have any exposure to reality during her job?  Does she have any knowledge of the case at hand?  Has she read the Abramoff indictment and plea materials on the web?

        I just can't believe this.

        She is doing public relations for the Post instead of casting a critical, independent eye. She does not seem to have the same independence from the Post as both ombudsman have shown at the NYT. You may not always agree with the NYT ombudsmen but they do not curry favor as Howell does. It is sad. They've put a black woman in a position where her job depends on sucking up.

      There were rich tribes and poor tribes. The rich tribes profited from Jack shenanigans and the poor tribes were screwed.
