That's what I do. I care about this community and I want it to function well. Frankly...if you want to ignore your responsibilities...fine, go ahead. But I'm tired of people shitting on the rules and bringing the level of discourse here to garbage.

It seems in this case that "shitting on the rules" wasn't really happening (obviously there's disagreement on this point, and history to be considered).
As for level of discourse.. to me it really appears there wouldn't have been any problems if a few TUs hadn't gone on a crusade. And some of those TUs were far from nice.
But my original point stands.. as a TU you are not empowered to say things like "I'm a TU, do this, do that".

It specifically says that if a number of people ask you to delete your diary or change the title...you should simply do so.
And the fact is that this diarist has a history of shitting on the rules. He's been doing it for months now. This is no where NEAR the first time I've asked him to stop...nor is it the first time many other TU's asked him to stop. We are to the point here where he is seriously a troll and could likely be autobanned for refusing to follow the rules and getting too many hidden comments for refusing to do so.
So...if you don't understand the history...maybe you should ask first and then you'd understand why the reaction here was what it was.

I see:
If you receive a reasonable request from a fellow Kossack to delete your diary (i.e., your diary is duplicative as per above), please do so.
and
TUs thus have the responsbility of deciding whether comments should be hidden or not.
If I missed it, please correct me. But I did not see anything to indicate that TUs have any authority above rating comments and changing tags. And as stated before, whether or not this diary title was appropriate is far from obvious.
That said, you have to understand if this user truly is a troll, then they have won. They have gotten the desired reaction out of at least a handful of users. By going on a crusade, you are just feeding them, and they will return to have more fun at our expense.
I think we've just about run through everything and looks like we'll have to agree to disagree.

You see, "i.e." means "in other words". It is simply ONE example, one reason a TU may ask someone to delete or make a change.
Here are some diaries you should read before you continue on with these opinions that have been poorly formed:
The Tao of Troll Rating, by Hunter
Dailykos Meta-Myths, by TheBlaz
I don't have time to argue bullshit with you. You can go read about it yourself.
