  •  As I said (0+ / 0-)

I'm glad things worked out on the voucher issue. Here in Texas we're involved in a never-ending battle to stave off the Christian right's money men, who pour millions into campaigns for vouchers every year.

But the Constitution Party includes members of the Army of God, and this is enough "real power" for me.

Please do read it, when you have the time.

    •  I have read it, man. (1+ / 0-)

I wouldn't have written this diary before taking the time to research that of which I speak.

I thank you for reading this diary and for caring enough to comment on it, as few others have. But I think you're missing the point of it, which is that if we are going to defeat these people totally, we are going to have to use their weaknesses against them, and their weaknesses include the very viciousness and zeal about which you are so rightfully concerned. If more of the people that the GOP has been using for years want to defect from their ranks and show their true colors, let them -- and expose them for what they are. That's the way that we push them to the margins of public discourse. And that's how we win.

      •  It isn't that I didn't take your point (0+ / 0-)

I simply disagree more than most that these folks are marginal.

Maybe that's because while I'm not a man, I am one of the people they shoot from time to time, and some of my friends and colleagues have been their victims.

But I do like your diary. ;-)

        Peace.

        •  I'm confused: (0+ / 0-)

They shot you? They shot your friends and colleagues? If so, that's a criminal matter, not a political one -- and they need to pay for what they did.

Don't get me wrong: I hate to see anyone get hurt. But any organization that is willing to commit or condone violence deserves criminal sanction and public ostracism for it. And so do the people who join up with them -- including those who have heretofore been hiding behind a veneer of respectability by calling themselves good Republicans.

          Get my drift?

          •  Perhaps I was unclear (0+ / 0-)

My remarks regarding violence were not about any members of the GOP.

I was speaking of the cross-pollination between the Constitution Party and the Army of God, whose members condone and/or commit murderous violence, and some of whom also conduct their political activities through membership in the Constitution Party.

Members of the AOG indeed have shot my friends and colleagues. And Patrick Johnston of the Constitution Party -- an AOG "Hero of the Faith" -- is their longtime and very public collaborator.

I get your drift and agree wholeheartedly. Expose them one and all.

        •  Thanks again (0+ / 0-)

for taking the time to comment. I spent a lot of time on this diary, but should have put more thought into the timing of its posting. I'm going to call it a night.
