I've actually creeped myself out on them a few times. I generally don't write erotica, but I've worked on enough of it (and enough romances) to be able to play with the tropes. I think it would be a bit too disturbing to write at much greater length... sort of like when I found out there was slash fiction out there about the Tor Books editorial staff.
