Do you believe the federal government is an agent of good or an intrusive force? As it relates to domestic policy? As it relates to foreign policy?

The government can be either. I believe strongly that on social issues the government's power should end at my front door, absent a compelling reason that involves the health or safety of another person. But I think we all know the good that government has been able to do when it comes to protecting the lives of people who need outside assistance, and in protecting our legitimate interests abroad.

increasing that gap in the first place, by structuring the fiscal and monetary policy to benefit the economic elite, rather than providing a more neutral playing field.
