  •  not cool (9+ / 0-)

Is it because her wounds are very severe and she just can't handle it?

I think Duckworth is a complete tool and her campaign represents a lot of what is wrong with our Party, but you are out of line.

The woman has had EXTREMELY SEVERE WOUNDS that occured less than a year ago. How likely is their mental issues on vets that have had such severe wounds>? Is that why she didn't show up to the candidates forum? BUT THERE REALLY IS NO EXCUSE FOR NOT SHOWING UP FOR THE ONLY TV DEBATE.

Her events are few and far between and totally scripted. I'm worried about her ability to physically do the JOB! NOT MAKING FUN OF HER AT ALL!

      •  I also heard she has an illegitimate black child (0+ / 0-)

don't know what that popped into my head, but you better believe it did.

Many returning vets do have mental issues like PTSD.  For some vets, getting involved in politics is a way for themselves to fight those very issues.  I spoke to a Vietnam vet who is a professor here about this just a few days ago, and he said that he and his friends joined and became very active in Vietnam Vets Against the War, as a way to channel their emotions to create some positive outcomes.  While it is obvious that Tammy Duckworth does have some bad PHYSICAL wounds, I think it is quite out of line to claim that she is mentally unstable and would not be able to perform her job in Congress.  Maybe getting involved in politics is HER way of dealing with the stress that she has gone through, and if it is, I applaud her and hope to see her continuing with politics.

That being said, I hope her involvement in politics is not as Congresswoman from IL-06, as I'd like that to be Christine Cegelis's job.

        •  She was recruited at Walter Reed Less (0+ / 0-)

          than SIX MONTHS AGO!

They're are pushing it. They are pushing her. Its all catch up with her on issues because she is being fed things to say. She can't think on her feet and if she doesn't show, that's probably why.
