    although his last album "prairie wind" was not very political, the last song on it "When God Made Me" was a real attack on Bush and the fundamentalists

  I thought it was one of his best in the last 25 years. His target wasn't just Bush, but a press with a tabloid mentality, corporate America, pollution -- and there was also this sense of existential dread in how people responded to 9/11. It was a great piece of work that made me rediscover him.
