    ...you need to have a really thick skin in publishing, but I freely admit that I don't. Intellectually I know all the good reasons that good books can get rejected, but emotionally I still take it personally every time.

    I agree about getting emotions down on paper - I need to be able to put myself in every character's head, and feel what he or she is feeling - which can easily spill over into real life if I'm not careful.
