We had a big crowd at our local DTC event tonight... Joe Courtney and state assmebly candidate Sherri Vogt were the main people we advertised, but there was a heavy Lamont and Malloy presence as well (including his lieutenant governor candidate) in what is a strongly pro-Lamont and pro-De Stefano town.

Courtney was happy to announce the DCCC's big ad buy for him, and he was a fiery speaker once he built up a head of steam. I got to hang out with him for a while afterward and talk about the war and the administration and Lieberman (a bit elliptically), but suffice it to say that while there were a few undecided voters there, there weren't any Lieberman supporters. I also bugged him about appearing on Kos a bit more often, which he was a little sheepish about.

Lieberman had surprised us by announcing on Sunday night that he was planning to come, then bailed on us today, so we didn't get to see him walk through the sea of Lamont signs

Sherri Vogt is a firebrand - a PTO mom and Army veteran who may eventually go a long way; she's got some Hackett potential, a few years down the road, if she can get past entrenched Mike Alberts in this district. Her campaign has really started to hit its stride after some growing pains, and she's a strong, passionate speaker (much stronger than Courtney actually, though they both got a lot of applause).

I've already used my diary for today on an episode of my "How Publishing Works" series, but another Kossack who was there promised to post a diary with more detail later tonight.
