My husband’s family lives in Virginia. Several years ago, his little sister went with a friend to a parade where George Allen was making an appearance, and her friend’s Mom got a chance to speak to Allen. While they were talking, he was chewing tobacco. He spit on the ground and a fleck of brown spittle landed on my sister-in-law’s shoe. She was horrified.
So now you know: George Allen spits on little girls.

That sort of bad judgement should be punished severely. OK, VA is a tobacco state. But it's scenes like those that make one want to campaign to ban all public consumption tobacco products.
Just... eeeuw.

And, get this, George Allen doesn't believe spitting on people or on a public street is disgusting but DOES believe two adults who happen to be of the same gender being in a loving, giving marriage IS disgusting? Shows his warped priorities. I hope Webb picks up on this issue and soon.

and opposes the hate...er, "marriage" amendment on Virginia's ballot this November.

I hope he is referring to the amendment in the same terms we do, a HATE amendment. That will resonate with voters in Virginia. For so long as we can fight to keep such amendments out of state constitution's, the opportunity exists for a legitimate court to provide gay Americans with the fundamental right to marry in all 50 states.
