  •  My flag (11+ / 0-)

is folded, in a box, in plastic, reverently stored away.

I used to put it up every day, and take it down every night. I would wait for a car to come by to share the ritual with someone. I liked having a flagpole and I liked having a house with a flag. I'm a veteran.

The last time I raised that flag was in December of 2000. I refuse to fly a flag while my beloved country is governed by this coup administration.

I told neighbors that I would gladly fly my flag again when we had a president that was duly elected by the people, and that I believed the office of the president was absconded by the actions of the Florida election committee.

I thought I would raise it again, even if George was re-elected, in 2004. Then I found out what happened in Ohio, and what Diebold did, and how many "mistakes" favored the republican candidate for president.

Old Glory is still in that box waiting for a fair election in America. Maybe I should just take down the pole.
