In an attempt to keep conservatives as the dominating political philosophy, conservatives have begun to argue that Bush is not a conservative. In fact, I've seen some conservative magazines proclaim that Bush is a liberal.
The fact is Bush is failing because conservative policies are failing. Bush is not a progressive, he's a conservative. To argue otherwise is to accept Right-Wing propaganda.

I think you misunderstood me....Bush is too far to the right to be a conservative....he's a reactionary. A radical. Rightists can be radicals also.
Think of (Godwin, please excuse me for a moment) Mussolini. He was definitely a radical (understatement). He was definitely not a liberal (another understatement). They say that you can go so far in either direction that it makes no difference after a while (hence the similarity of Mussolini's tactics to, say, Stalin's).
In any event, who's Bush's heir apparent in the "conservative" movement? Nobody. Conservatism is fucked because they got snookered badly by a mob of radicals. Any attempt to paint Bush as a liberal (ha!) is doomed to failure, and I think those trying to push that line are fully aware of it too.
