Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land will be tough to beat (incumbents are generally tough to beat unless there's a partisan landslide or they overstay their welcome).

Despite admitting to an affair in a bizarre cat fight with trial lawyer Geoffrey Fieger, Attorney General Mike Cox is still favored to win. He has a big war chest. And did I mention that he's an incumbent?

Basically, any incumbent appellate-level judge goes in as a heavy favorite.

The education posts are decided almost strictly on party affiliation.

    Michigan politics. Wonderful, eh?

If it weren't for the Greens, Cox wouldn't have won.

      •  Yeah, 48K votes for the Greens (0+ / 0-)

Even if you offset the Constitution party votes, the margin was still well more than the infamous 5,280 votes by which Cox won.

Having said that, I wish that Jason Hanson of the Detroit "Lions" could have booted Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick firmly between the cheeks for his awful GOTV effort in 2002.

that Cox could have a chance at re-election.
Between the melodramatic pissing contest with Fieger (which he has used our tax dollars to advance), and his admitted affair in a press conference (huh???), it's amazing that people would give him support.
