  •  whelp, another day, another letter (0+ / 0-)

    Dear Senator Warner,

I am reading this morning about the "hold" placed on  S.2590 on "legislation introduced by Sens. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., and Barack Obama, D-Ill., that would create a searchable database of government contracts, grants, insurance, loans and financial assistance, worth $2.5 trillion last year. The database would bring transparency to federal spending and be as simple to use as conducting a Google search."

As I understand it, the bill has "passed" the comittee, but someone in the committee has stopped it. I sincerely hope it was not you.

So bottom line seems to be, we are not allowed to see how our tax dollars are being spent by those who sit in the Hallowed Halls, and if we ask, and the committee says, "Ok, here ya go.." one person on that committee can say "Nope, sorry John Q. Public, we're going to spend your money, give porkine contracts to our buddies with no bidding, oversite or accountability, and you are not allowed to know who gets what, and furthermore, you are not allowed to know who I am, or my reasons for keeping secret why you may not know."

This sort of disrespect for the American people has got to stop.

Please elevate yourself above all of the shady dealings that are going on in your party these days. I honestly can say that were you up for re-election today, I could not vote for any Republican who has not distanced himself from the shoddy, lying, self-serving bunch who call themselves Republicans today.

Please GO ON RECORD letting us know that it was not you who has slapped the American taxpayer in the face with this shady "hold".

Hands off my Social Security, John McCain.
