There's a lot more that could be said about this primary contest, like: How come Laffey's challenge of Chaffee is not scandalous, but Lamont's challenge of victory over Lieberman is? Progressive sites like this need to keep hammering on this type of inconsistency in MSM / beltway insider treatment of stories.
Slimeball ads like this, like the Swift Boat thing, like the Willie Horton ads from 88-- these are the absolutly worst basis on which voters should decide elections. Yet this is what Republicans turn to time after time. That should be a continuing, prominent media story in itself.
BTW, did you see Chris Matthew's interview with Laffey last week? Chris kind of fell in love with him on the spot-- apparently because Laffey "talks fast" like he does. Gee, Chris, kind of shallow, don't you think?
