I enjoyed reading again about the general's slap down of hapless Cavuto, but this diary seems like a retread of another that's currently on the recommended list.

Please update your diary with newer commentary and link to the one posted earlier:

      [Special note]

However, I want to clarify the intent for my seperate post here.  Although this could be argued as an extension of souldrifts terrific blog, "Wes Clark comes out with Guns Blazing", in my view I've offered another perspective.

The GOPs attempt to air "The Path to 9/11" on ABC is integral to their propoganda campaign, which Clark clearly recognized.  This has not been discussed with due emphasis, imo, which is why I chose to post this at length, as a seperate blog.

But you're right, I do not want to take away from souldrifts post. :)

      •  OK, but enhance your emphasis (0+ / 0-)

You have now confirmed the suspicion I had when I fired off my quick reply, that suspicion being your diary was aimed at highlighting Clark's effort to counter right-wing election propaganda with facts and experience. KR I'm OK with that perspective, but help us out by enhancing your argument. Can you show us how the GOP influenced ABC (or Disney) to produce "The Path to 9/11"? Sure, makes sense as a campaign strategy ("11/6"), but you gotta smoking gun for us?

        •  I'm just banking on Clark's genius,... ;) (0+ / 0-)

who recognised Rove's multi-pronged strategy to divert discourse and focus consequent of Bush's inauguration in 2001 to the events prior to it.

This "strategy" was evident through President Bush's series of speeches this week.  It's of no coincidence that it starts prior to the anniversary of 9/11.  GOPs strategy for 11/6 is all about distorting the facts about how 9/11 really happened under Bush's watch.    Add this with FOX News GOP punditry and release of this film this weekend (produced by a conservative GOP'er), then it's clearer what the Bush/Rove Media Machine is really up to.

I'm glad that Clark attacked it head on with the facts.

[BTW:: Sorry for the delayed response, Hogarth.  I'm actually VERY busy with activities this week, but just had to post my thoughts as a blog, given my limited time]

There a brazillion on the ABC 9/11 mockumentary.  Have you pointed that out to all those diarists?
