  •  you do not improve anything... (0+ / 0-)

...by becoming the very thing you claim to fight.

I mean I read your diary and if I changed a single word (extreme-left instead of extreme-right) it sounds EXACTLY like some freeper screed.  THEY scream the exact same bullshit about US all the damn time!  Are you so gifted with divine insight that your screed is somehow THE Truth?  Do you think YOUR righteousness somehow makes YOU better?

Is that what you want to become?  A raving freeper who thinks that the only way to fix the world is to fight the "enemy" within?  Then you better get ready for a lifetime of fighting because that kind ALWAYS finds an enemy.

Fuck that!  We are ALL Americans!  We are all PEOPLE!  How dare you come here and polute dKos with this rhetorical GARBAGE.

I am so sick and tired of being told THEY are evil and WE are good.  That THEY want to destroy America and WE want to save it.  It's no more true when someone on the left says it than when someone on the right says it.  Just because THEY are wrong doesn't make YOU right.  You're both wrong as far as I can tell.

"Good" and "evil" doesn't fucking exist and it's junk logic everytime someone uses it to rationalize their hate or disdain.  It's all point of view.  what is good to you is evil to another and visa versa.  WHo's right?  no one is.

What we should be concerning ourselves with is not what is "good" or "evil" but what is constructive vs what is destructive.  And this kind of garbage is no less destructive coming out of the mouth of a liberal than out of the mouth of a neo-con.  Even the "Nazis" thought what they were doing was "Good" and used that rhetoric to justify the harm they caused. But they were the single most destructive force in the 20th century.  THAT is what we should be focusing on.

You want to fight fire with fire?  You're just going to end up burning everyone in your path.

    To hell with that.

    •  A few responses (0+ / 0-)

      1. I'm not American. Which means, by the logic of the extreme-right, that I'm not human.
      1. When men commit evil deeds, they must be confronted for it. Whitewashing their actions by saying "Good and Evil doesn't fucking exist" is equivalent to stating that their actions are not that bad; and if they're not that bad, then one doesn't have to do anything about it.
      1. Is it constructive to allow the extreme-right to claim the center? Because by not strong terms, the left has allowed the right to do just that. The simple fact, the simple Historical fact, is that there is no such thing as a far-left, much less an extreme-left in America. But there is an extreme-right; and THEY... ARE... EVIL.
      1. There IS such a thing as Good and Evil. There's no such thing as ABSOLUTE Good or ABSOLUTE Evil. BIG DIFFERENCE. There are acts which are acceptable to a society, and acts which are not. And this post-modernist crap has got to stop. Is causing the death of 500000 people not Evil? Is selling chemical and biological weapons to a dictator not Evil? Is ignoring all the science and claiming there's no Global Warming, so there's no need for any action not Evil?

The extreme-right want to deny YOU your right to exist. They believe they're right.

And by the way, if what you're telling me is that YOU don't believe YOU're right, I have to call bullshit. OBVIOUSLY, everyone thinks they are right. The Nazis thought they were right, the neo-cons think they're right. WE ALL BELIEVE WE ARE RIGHT. That's the simple nature of the human mind. To claim otherwise is ridiculous.

In the end, it comes down to this: the right has managed to make all Americans believe that they are actually the center. They did that by simply STATING IT AS FACT. They claimed the center, and the left let them have it. Now they are trying the same thing with the hard right. Next, they'll attempt the same with the extreme right.

So, by not calling them the extreme-right, you are actually playing their game, which means they have won. The left needs to WAKE UP, and call a spade a spade. The current administration is FASCIST; that is not rhetoric, it's simply a recognition of fact. They match, on every single point, the 14 characteristics of fascist and protofascist regimes.  The American system of government is not yet FASCIST; but that DOES NOT MEAN THAT THE PEOPLE IN POWER DON'T SUSCRIBE TO THAT IDEOLOGY. It's quite possible to have fascists in charge of a democratic country (Italy under Berlusconi, for example, where a large portion of Berlusconi's forces were out and out fascists, black shirts and all).

Refusing to use the terms Fascists and Nazi where they are warranted by the facts is EXACTLY what can lead to the horrors of World War II to return. The implication is that there's no way that any American could POSSIBLY be as evil as Hitler or Mussolini. That's bullshit. There are quite a few Americans alive today who would, if given a chance, commit atrocities even worse than Hitler. Luckily, most of them are in mental hospitals. But it is still relevant, still NECESSARY, to ASK: ARE OUR LEADERS EVIL?

And the question must be answered.

      •  more garbage. (0+ / 0-)

all of it.  I am not even going to address your points because you just keep repeating yourself without offering any substance.  You make wild and broad over-generalizations about a group you can't even define.

You want to believe that you are entirely entitled, but it's no less garbage when YOU do it than when THEY do it. (since you only seem to understand "us vs them" arguments)
