    president, but I don't know about this:

    While all the Native tribal chiefs may have been men, they were appointed by mothers and councils of grand mothers. This is one area of native custom that I always felt should have been included in our government.

    LOL.

    You don't honestly want our "chiefs" to be appointed by councils of grandmothers do you????

      but then after thinking about it... hell yes!  I think mothers and grandmothers would have the wisdom and insight to weigh and balance a candidate's emotional and mental maturity with real courage and not be as easily deceived by "cowboy" boy-who-cries-wolf bravado.  Don't you?
