Fair enough.  Unity08 is an organization of political insiders who have decided that they will nominate a Republican and a Democrat as a presidential and vice-presidential ticket.  They call themselves "grassroots" and a "people's movement," and they've told the public that they will succeed based on small-money contributions, but they are suing in federal court to take unlimited donations and loans from a small group of people.

The Founders' Council contains a former White House chief of staff, his daughter, his daughter's teacher, and a member of the board from her summer camp.

It all seems like a joke, except... they're very well connected and getting fawning media pieces in places like Hotline and The Hill and the Washington Post and The Atlantic Monthly... because they know or are financially connected to the people who run these media companies.  In addition, they're in talks with Chuck Hagel and Michael Bloomberg, who have big stashes of cash available to all of a sudden turn this joke into a viable threat.

The point is that this outfit consists of people who are not what they say they are.  They're up to something (although I do not know what), and it is imperative for us to ask questions of this organization, and to challenge them when they refuse to answer to we little people.
