  •  Actually, the role religion plays varies from (10+ / 0-)

    state to state.  In my state, one of the criteria in deciding custody is religion - but in a very specific way - it's whether a parent is likely to continue raising the child in the religion practiced during the marriage.  Although I've seen judges very definitely use that to decide that factor against a parent who didn't attend church and for one who did, even when the parties hadn't attended church at all during the marriage.  
    Here's to hoping this latest incident will be brought to the entity reviewing judicial conduct and get him off the bench.
