As the chairman of our petition drive said today:
Approximately 5.3 million people are registered as Democrats in NYS. We need to get 5,000 of them (less than .01 percent) to sign a petition to put Al Gore on the NYS ballot. Massachusetts has approx. 1.5 million registered Democrats. The Massachusetts Draft Al Gore campaign has already collected over 5,000 signatures there and is still working on getting more. In Michigan, were John Kerry received 2.4 million Democratic votes in 2004, the Michigan Draft Al Gore campaign collected over 3,000 signatures for Al Gore. We can do it here. Let’s not embarrass ourselves.

I've been so depressed because it felt like we fell of the bandwagon.
Leave it to NY... Is there anything that non-New Yorkers can do to help you?
I'm so happy to see this diary!
