Great diary. Recommended.
If Hillary is the nominee, not only will she get many votes because she is a woman, she'll enjoy a large percentage of the sexist vote, too.
I have an Uncle who is utterly sexist, to his core. His daughter couldn't drive until she graduated high school, yet his son was allowed to drive when he turned 16. His daugher always had a curfew. His son? Not so much. His doctor retired and referred his patients to a trusted colleague, who happened to be female. My Uncle found a new (male) doctor.
And, yes, he says he's gonna vote for Hillary. Why? "Because Bill will be back in there, and he did a damned good job."
Sigh. I guess that's better than being a Republican.
No more Republican rule.

We go to elections with the electorate we have, not the electorate we wish we had.
I hope no one decides that they'd like to have a beer with Mike Huckabee, or that Hillary is too smart.

We all have some strange people like that in the family. I had an uncle who used to think he was Mr. Macho, runs the family. He thought he ran things. His wife let him pretend he was the big, bad macho guy. In the end, he really had no power, but everyone just gets tired of explaining reality to him.

at the hospital he worked at. After he retired and I had moved back home, I needed a PCP. I chose a woman, on staff at that hospital, who held a high position (not chief of staff, but close). My dad felt he had to get on the phone to a colleague still at the hospital to check her out. He just didn't quite trust a woman as a doctor. Don't get me wrong. He was a sweetheart, but still very old school.
