His dedication to his men was worth his own life to him. Regardless of how you feel about this war, or war in general, you cannot deny that his dedication is something to behold.

    So much of this seems to move into the abstract.
    
    "This many have died, this many wounded. Attacks up. Attacks down."
    
    Remembering that these are real people is important. Seeing that they gave so much of themselves just makes me want to redouble my efforts to bring them home.
