Mom & son have talked with each other. The son called me. He is safe. He was unbelieveably happy that other people cared about his situation - and took some comfort in knowing that action is being taken.
My personal hero in all this - the son, his mom, and (I'm sure they would agree) a Republican woman who cares very much about our troops and the way they are being treated. She works for Congressman Jerry Weller. A very deep & appreciative to her.
Not to be forgotten are Ilona, jimstaro, ninepatch and testvet. Everybody did something - for people they don't know.
This isn't over, but it is rapidly coming to a very good conclusion. All of you helped. One very brave soldier was smart enough to call for help - and so did another. Their call has generated bi-partisan support not just for themselves, but for others we know experiencing the same problems.
So, kid. When you finally get a chance to read this, I want you to know that I proud of you.

I am so happy to hear that "our" soldier is in a better frame of mind. And, that Mom is doing better, as well. How wonderful that another soldier spoke up and is able to get some help now, too.
