My husband was Vietnam vet and POW, who was tortured by his North Vietnamese captors. He suffered from his injuries for over thirty years, until his fatal heart attack two years ago.
The US government would like Americans to focus on waterboarding, so they miss all the other forms of torture that is going on in the name of EVERY American as we speak.
Let me be clear:
Food deprivation is torture. Forced feeding is torture. Sleep deprivation is torture. Clothing deprivation is torture. Sensory deprivation is torture. Deliberate sensory over-load is torture. Stress positions are torture. Deliberate cold environments are torture. Deliberate hot environments are torture. Sexual humiliation and rape is torture. Waterboarding is torture. Beatings are torture.
These are only some of the methods of torture.
ALL AMERICANS need to stand up and say:
NOT IN MY NAME! NEVER IN MY NAME! and they need to KEEP saying it until the torture stops.
Torture is ALWAYS wrong, no matter who is doing it to whom.

I've unfortunately been subjected to a few of those things, food deprivation, sensory deprivation, stress positions, hot and cold environments, sexual humiliation and rape. It's ALL Torture. And this is ALL part of tacticts that have been used, in our name, in black site prisons, at Gitmo, in Afghanistan, and Iraq, on men, women, and children.
