Most polling diaries:

1.  (My Candidate) leads in this poll!  This confirms that (My Candidate) is on an inevitable and unstoppable march to victory and is destined to be the next President of the United States.  No other polls matter because they (are not of a relevant early primary state/do not take into account the nationalization of the primary process)!

2.  (Candidate who I do not prefer) is leading in this poll.  This poll does not matter because it is (too early/not of a relevant state).  All this poll is doing is (measuring name recognition/the product of the candidate buying support/media fawning over the candidate).  Of course, remember (that Dean lead Kerry in 2004/that Lieberman was the early leader).

Optional corollary to #2:

(Candidate who I do not prefer) is slipping in the polls.  (Candidate who I do not prefer) has gone down (immeasurable percentage, likely within margin of error) in the past six months.  (Candidate who I do not prefer) is going down, while (Candidate I prefer) is rising.  Obviously, (Candidate I prefer) is the only choice for the nomination, because (Candidate I do not prefer) is (overgeneralized slur about candidate I do not prefer), while (Candidate I prefer) is (overgenalized compliment about candidate I prefer)!
