  •  Couldn't even hear the protesters (1+ / 0-)

My husband and I wondered what the heck the Cooper Union protesters were saying. I thought maybe I heard the word "Bush," but he opted for "Get out of Iraq." I was also at the Strata event but didn't even notice that protest at all. The Cooper Union event was by far the best of the two, not because of any personal interaction (which I don't expect anyway) but because of a newer speech and an extended question-and-answer session. Frankly, with all the stories (see today's Washington Post of Edwards' abject "failure" in raising money--$14 million in the first quarter deemed "disappointing" followed by predicted collapse in second quarter), I am glad he only spent a short time with our $15-a-person group. I hope he had at least a fundraiser or two with big money contributors afterwards. Bill Richardson was quoted as bragging that he will outraise Edwards in quarter 2. Send some money if you support Edwards.

chanting about impeachment, and I think also something about Iraq. The funniest thing was Brian Lehrer's comment "Do you think anyone here disagrees with you?"

You're right, though; there's definitely a ratcheting up of the anti-Edwards hit pieces. I put it down to people being scared of him, because he's, from where I stand, the best candidate.

And there we are, the beautiful; eating from TV trays, tuned in to Happy Days.

This Sunday's NY Times Magazine includes two letters to the editor in response to Matt Bai's article--both extremely hostile to Edwards (typical Republican stuff, trial lawyer, big house...). It is hard to believe that no positive Edwards letters were submitted.
