Dear Senator _______,

Up until now I've not been a strong supporter of impeaching the president or the vice president only because I thought it would be a waste of time and resources better spent elsewhere. However the events of the past week have caused me a great deal of alarm and I feel our democracy is in grave danger. I am a veteran who took my oath to protect and defend the United States and the Constitution seriously. While I am no longer active duty, I still hold to that oath, which is why I am contacting you.

There is considerable evidence George W. Bush and Richard Cheney have committed crimes while in office including obstruction of justice, misleading Congress, violations of international law, and possibly war crimes.

I know impeachment proceedings begin in the House of Representatives, however I am asking you to add your voice to the growing chorus of people who are asking them to begin impeachment proceedings against George W. Bush and Richard Cheney and should they be impeached vote for conviction provided there is evidence of criminal behavior when it comes to the Senate for trial.
