    •  are you sure they aren't called Atresians? (3+ / 0-)

      or Atrians? Atriosians? 'Trosians?

we here in the middle of flyover territory apparently have a lot of time on our hands to ponder these things? Or, I do? G-d forbid I should speak for anyone besides myself.

    •  why does he even bother caling it Eschaton? (5+ / 0-)

It's not like anyone ever refers to it as "Eschaton", everyone just calls it "atrios's blog"

One of these days he should just change it to "Atrios" and see if anyone notices.

I read it a few times when I was hanging out there a couple years back...  but I'm probably frightfully out of date...

i often feel we are living at the climax of history.

not in a fundy biblical end-times sense of the word, but in the excitement of knowing we are cresting a wave of major societal change, and the future is very uncertain, and Big Orange and Atrios and FDL and everyone else in Left Blogistan is working hard to make sure things turn out the right (left/decent/honorable/progressive) way.

    •  Me, an extremist? (15+ / 0-)

I drive a Ford Ranger pickup with a camper shell.
I  think Gunsmoke was a better program than The Sopranos.
I've never paid more than sixty bucks for a hotel room, or more than a buck fifty for a cup of coffee.
I don't buy fish, I fish for fish. And I eat them cooked, not raw.
My great-grandfather fought for the confederacy.
His grandfather fought for American Independence.
I fly the American flag every day.

So what am I doing here?

Exercising my god-given right  to associate with whomever I choose.  And making some East Coast gasbags very nervous.  They just don't get it.  Freedom, that is.

      I love this place!

nice post.  i love to annoy the East Coast gasbags myself.  they can't tell either one of us what to do.  they don't have the right to define us either.

we don't need defining.  we already know who we are.

The power structure considers the Internet to be the biggest threat to their goals.  Why do you think that O'Reilly calls Daily Kos "no different than the Nazis" or "left wing bomb throwers."  The purpose is to condition the public into believing that the Internet is EVIL!

For the fist time, grassroots movements have an opportunity to achieve real power in this country and this is a possibility that the elite in this country cannot afford.

I'm sure you've seen the show on NBC called something like "To catch an INTERNET predator." This is the show where they show pedophiles coming to the house of an 13 year old girl in order to rape them. At first I thought it was good to expose these people and found it rather troubling.  But now they've made it a weekly show and YOU MUST ASK YOURSELF WHY?

The obvious purpose is to condition the public.  So why are they conditioning the public?  And why does O'Reilly use the words Nazi, extremist, bomb thrower, KKK, terror when doing so?  Because they want to influence the public into believing that censoring the Internet is a good thing.

So the next step is for someone in Congress to introduce a bill in order to "protect children" from the Internet.

Since not many people like Nazis or left wing bomb throwers, and since nobody likes pedophiles, the average person will figure "well, I don't like Nazis, bomb throwers, or pedophiles so censoring the internet must be a good thing."

It's coming people.  Remember this post.  Think about why they describe the Internet as the dwelling of Nazis, KKK, left wing bomb throwers, pedophiles, anti-Semites, and terrorists.  They've lost control of their power and THEY WANT IT BACK!!!!

Remember how Chertoff said he has a "GUT FEELING" that another attack would happen soon?  I guarantee that if this happens, that the power structure will find some way to connect the Internet to it.

Think out side the box people.  We're entering a Police State.

        Remember this post!

          too easily.

If Congress puts a stop to Daily Kos, we will have no choice, and that is definitely not something that they want.

I lived through Kent State.  If they want to try to take my internet away, they will find we may exercise options that they do not like.

There will be utterly less for me to live for.
