I heard his name (I live in CA), but I'm sure it won't be the last

and he lives in my hometown. I am SO proud that he represents me in Congress. I would love to see him in the Senate.

    •  I'm going to tell you something. (5+ / 0-)

I live in New Jersey and it breaks my heart that this man is not in the Senate.   When Corzine didn't pick him for the Senate vacancy created by his election as Governor, Corzine fell in my estimation

Holt is an outstanding citizen.   I cannot say I agree with everything he has said or done, but I have absolute confidence that every single action Rush Holt takes is motivated by a sense of integrity and decency.

In general, I object to the idea of family rule.  I'm sick to death on some level of the fact that two families, the Bushs and the Clintons, have been in every national election since 1976.

Rush Holt's dad was a Senator from West Virginia.

I'd be thrilled to violate my rule and have Dr. Holt be the Senator from New Jersey.

      He is simply outstanding.

in NJ. I have lived in central NJ for a very long time. We saw more of him in his first year in office than we saw of his predecessors in the previous 15 years. Holt shos up at all the local events to support local Democrats at the township and county level.

Holt is also a man of absolute integrity. Unlike most of the congresscritters, he is squeaky clean.

        •  This is absolutely true. (2+ / 0-)

I heard him say to a crowd that one should feel free to walk up to him if one sees him in the barbershop and say what one thinks.

I absolutely would do so if I saw him on the street.   It's absolutely possible, by the way, since I live near him.

My wife once saw him sitting in traffic.

He read to one of my son's in preschool and was very, very, very gracious to the other when we ran into him at a science fair.

He is the best politician ever to represent me - and I don't agree with all of his policies by the way.
