I'm willing to consider that he might be capable of serving as AG and not coming into conflict, but it does disturb me... Couldn't we find an AG nominee who wasn't serving as an advisor to a presidential campaign?
His views on civil liberties bother me the most. We need someone who's going to be a real law and order AG right now, who thinks that no one, not even the president, is above the law. The more I read about Mukasey, the less I'm convinced that he falls into that category.
I'm cautious, but right now, for me, it's "too soon to tell." However, regardless of their "past" positions on him, and regardless of whether or not the msm is in love with him (as they seem to be), the Democrats need to do some investigating, and ask some hard questions when he comes up for a vote.

What does "law and order" mean, anyhow?
STFU and keep the rabble in line?
What is 'rule of law'?
