I see a man warmly greeting a group of orthodox Jews.
His problem is with Zionism-- not Judiasm.

who those people were?
I don't believe you.
by andgarden on Mon Sep 24, 2007 at 10:36:51 PM PDT
means?
In fact Jews in Iran are also anti-Zionist.
Has being an antizionist Jew turned into a crime already?

The Jewish rabbis, who represent the worldwide movement of Neturei Karta and just took part in the Tehran conference on "the Holocaust, Global Vision", lauded Ahmadinejad’s friendship with the Jewish community and stressed that the true followers of Judaism condemn the crimes of the Zionist regime of Israel in all parts of the world, including the Palestinian territories. The rabbis further underscored that formation of the Zionist regime or any Jewish state is in direct contradiction with the teachings of Judaism and is thus, illegal and illegitimate.

LOL!!!!!!!!
Neturei Karta are actually a rarer breed in the world than black gay Republicans.
If you know anything about this group, you would know that there are two branches, the radical fringe group which has been denounced by nearly ALL Jewish groups across the religious spectrum, and a slightly less insane group that also completely condemns them.
Taking a group of half a dozen fringe fanatics who attended a Holocaust denial conference as proof of Ahmadinejad's love for the Jewish people is just beyond stupid.

Most of the approximately 13 million Jews worldwide today who are aware of the existence of the Neturei Karta perceive them as roughly about as good representatives of the Jewish people as BushCo are good representatives of the people of the United States.
You might want to do some research before you hold them up as paradigmatic of anything other than lunacy.

I gotta drop a d0nut on ya for that.
If you recall, the comment you are responding to referred to the context of that photo. You are either dumb or playing dumb with the comment I highlighted. I know the context and agree: your use of that photo is trollish. Your TR of andgarden's comment also deserves a d0nut as does calling him a troll.

hired Condoleezza Rice as Secretary of State...therefore he must LOVE black people and has worked tirelessly to alleviate their plight in American society right?
Ashmadinejad met with a widely discredited extremist and fringe group and that therefore means that he adores all things Jewish!

conflating the Nation of Islam with Islam generally (thru proximity)?
The main belief of The Nation of Islam and its followers is that there is no God but Allah. However, they redefine "Allah" by saying "who came in the person of W. D. Fard." Fard founded the Nation of Islam that was then adopted by Elijah Muhammad. Their teachings are heretical by traditional Islamic standards which abhor the deification of any person, or the anthropomorphization of God.

it might be my first, I had happened to read about the Jews living in Iran. I don't particularly care for Ahmadinejad or for what happens in Iran to gays but I did think it was an interesting comment on zionism. Especially in light of the protests by United We stand.
Someone said in the thread on Zionism that 40,000 Jews didn't matter, that comment also caused me some surprise.
