    The reason that the editorialists could say that the 'whole Niger visit' was absurdly over-examined (in the editorialists' view) is it was they who wrongly undercut the story originally, and it was they who allowed the administration and its spokespersons to continue the exposed fraud.

    That's why they're desperately suggesting that a clear and obvious expose of the media's pro-war collaboration {the US media always, always, always happily help an administration march to war against 'our' enemies, they just love love love it} such as this Niger work by Joe Wilson just needs to be forgot about.

    You know, no big thing, sure, we helped promote a war by our reporting and by our sneering attitudes to critics, but hey, we're real journalists, see, we work out of big buildings and have important people on our blackberry phones, we need to just forget life's most embarassing moments and move on to promoting our next imperial adventure.
