...or if anybody else wants to...
I'd really like to get people to take this into their own hands. I can't make this happen by myself.

This is a great idea, you're right we are going to have to do this ourselves and this is a great idea. Definitely spreading the word.

I'd love to use the graphic you provide above, but exactly how does one grab the graphic?
THX, love the idea! JRE+ $6,000,000 = COMSTFU.

I know how to save an image, but the image KOE has above is also a link to the JRE donation page.
How do you make the graphic itself become a link?
by Lisa Lockwood on Mon Jan 14, 2008 at 05:04:18 AM PDT
...which can vary from site to site.
Usually, you can just use the "make link" function after you've embedded the image.

by countrycat on Mon Jan 14, 2008 at 07:23:55 AM PDT
Dont forget the "a" in "a href". The code is this:
[a href="link url"][img src="image name"][/a]
only use all pointed brackets, as above, instead of square ones. I used those so you could see the code instead of a broken link.

To embed the image with link to donation form, copy and paste this: <a href="https://www.johnedwards.com/action/contribute/form/"><img src="http://aycu23.webshots.com/image/41822/2002719841811572189_rs.jpg" align="right" hspace="10"></a>

I was so busy doing the "less than sign for the opening bracket" and "greater than for the closing" that I screwed up the rest of the tag.
Does the PRE tag work on DKos? I tried it once years ago and it didn't then.
by countrycat on Mon Jan 14, 2008 at 01:04:30 PM PDT
If you are using Microsoft Outlook or something similar it is easy to add a link.
Once you have the image in your email (body) click on the image (to select) and then look at your tool bar for the little world with the link image and click on that link. It will bring up a dialogue box. Enter the html information and click OK. It will automatically add the link to the image.
Easy peasy :)
Let me know if that works!

and drag to your desktop.
If it is "protected" and won't drag off, you can use the screen cap feature, which is holding down apple-shift-4, and while holding down, drag the mouse to capture the image. Let go, and voila, it's on your desktop as "Picture 1," or Picture 5, if you have four there already.

What is the combination of buttons to make the page go immediately to the top (home) or bottom (end)?
Sorry to intrude into this conversation, but it is a slow scroll to get to the top or bottom for me at the moment...must ask when I see an 'apple person'...any help would be appreciated.

Right click and choose "save image location". IE's command is similar, a right click, but I forgot the exact wording.
Then, past the image location into your post.
This is the image location.

can you also update this to include the matching funds for those people who buy buttons, bumper stickers, signs etc. up to $250 as a way to add up to this goal? thanks for this awesome idea!

nicer than most, and I hate to see John out just because the media screwed him over.
I plan to go give him some money on the 18th just to give a finger to the media and tell them to STFU and quit trying to choose our candidates for us.
If you post this on the Edwards site, tell them that a Clinton supporter is raising a fist in solidarity as well. :-)

my mother will donate some this Friday. She´s for JRE too.
by lpeacock on Mon Jan 14, 2008 at 08:46:40 AM PDT
is it $2300 or $250? Is the $250 match on a per person basis or a per donation basis?
I'll get my cohabitant to donate in her name to match my donations. She supports Edwards too, but is short on cash.

For the primary, it´s 2300 dollars per person.
For the General another 2300.
by lpeacock on Mon Jan 14, 2008 at 10:15:17 AM PDT
I've probably met my match limit, but will make sure my roomie does too. I'm still going to give more even if it isn't matched.
Thanks again.
by Scubaval on Mon Jan 14, 2008 at 10:33:17 AM PDT
is that $250 match like per quarter or overall?
I gave $100 at the end of December, but now it's January.
I'm sorry, I wish I knew more, but I'm thankful to have you folks here to help me learn.

Real change has never started in Washington. Real change came from those who fought in the trenches -- those who shed their blood, sweat and tears, and those who suffered broken bones. Real change started in Selma. Real change started with Rosa Parks. Real change started with the Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King and the brave men who sat down at a luncheon counter at Woolworth's in Greensboro, North Carolina. Real change started in churches just like this across America and across the South. And real change started not far from here in Orangeburg, South Carolina.

This would spread the word better. I don't use Myspace but I use Facebook and created a group but when I sent messages to people asking them to join Facebook told me to stop because it was considered spam. Could someone from here create the group, post the url, and then we can invite all of our friends? The only way to make this work is by spreading the word all over the internet.
