The average playboy reader doesn't feel the same way we do... I suppose they were reading for the articles after all...

btw, I thought those letters displayed, on average, as much reasoning and logic as your average petrified dog turd (incidentally lining up with the average fox news viewer).

Normally I let this stuff go, but if you read said letters, you'll note they each hit one of the five or six talking points of an obscure website devoted to trying to annoy me (it's actually so bad it's good).
Playboy got played.

I read it and thought, "O'Donnell is a Kerry guy isn't he? Why would he trash Edwards?" Then I realized - duh! - Kerry endorsed Obama, of course a Kerry guy would be trashing Edwards.
The blog post he wrote is awfully obnoxious.

What a freakin whiner. "Wah, wah, wah. John Edwards is a meany spoil sport".
Besides, I thought we were not going to worry about race and gender. Why is he bringing it up? John Edwards is not being racist or a misogynist because he thinks his message is important. Why is Larry acting like there is something inherently unsavory in Edwards making a run for it?

...we shouldn't expect our candidates to have to condemn articles written by supporters.
If he worked for the Campaign, that might be a different thing. But I think our candidates have more to do than to police every article every supporter they have would write.
And I say that as an Edwards supporter.
I'm still an Edwards supporter, and a Patriots fan. Not having the best year here...

be for KO to be the first to comment in his own diary. Given his influence by the time his page refreshes after posting a diary it already has 40 comments.
Markos/CT should put a comment delay of 30 seconds for everyone but the diarist.
Even though KO doesn't need mojo from us I like that he posts according to standard site practice. Somehow all the other celebrities doing the post and run or post/no tip jar seems to put just a little distance between them and us.

Very well said, Keith.

..several times as well. It was brilliant.
I loved the "in your face" frankness. It was downright heady.
When I was visiting in Seattle recently, I stayed at my mother's place for a bit. I would watch Countdown in the living room, and she would watch television in the next room. The night the special comments show was on, she passed through the room briefly to get something, then went back to her show. Moments later I realized she had changed channels, and was watching Countdown.
My mother says she is apolitical, but I have a feeling she is hooked on Countdown now, just as I am.
Keith, your candor and passion, your ability to see the truth and deliver it so powerfully... it's addictive. And may I never be cured of that addiction.
Thank you!!

Ulcers. Got them in May from my simmering anger these past years caused and have stayed away so they could heal. Well, they healed, but now I have SO many other problems, I am back to take my mind off of THEM! Haven't watched K.O. since than either, but have caught up with him on the website and seeing him tonight was like a fresh of breath air and allows me a small particle of hope. I thank you for that K.O. and I thank you, kossers for so eloquently speaking of all that's wrong and discussing it. your apparent aversion to Dennis Kucinich. He's doing enough that he certainly should be appearing on your show (NH Recount, Battle with you guys over getting on the debate, etc.). And he is the representative of the non-centerist wing of the Democratic party. You've had Biden, Dodd, Gore, Hillary, Edwards (I would assume Barack) on during the campaign (ok, Gore was only stringing us along (!)), but why not Dennis (and hell, why not Mike Gravel).
The debate you moderated doesn't count.
Other than that, good job for the most part.
Don't blame me, I support Dennis! http://kucinich.us

Thank you.
I was raised by an Aunt who was an english and journalism teacher of over 40 years, who passed almost exactly a year ago. Was involved in politcs and the teachers union as well.
We'd had occasion to discuss you and your show, the direction and stand you've taken.
She held you in the highest regard and was actually relieved that someone out there had the courage to live up to the highest standard of integrity in journalism.
This diary would've brought tears of joy to her eye's I promise you.
It's in her honor and memory, that I want to thank you, for all you do, and the example you provide for us all here and throughout the public square.
You ever find yourself in Seattle, I'll keep an eye out and hope to see you at an M's game. With any luck, it'll be a game against the Tiger's (yes, I'm a motown son!) and they're cleaning the M's clocks! ;)
