Romney knows that his religion is a potentially problematic issue with the Republican base. He can easily mollify their concerns by teaming up with a Baptist minister.

He is too hideous a candidate.
His nomination would make the Dems a shoo-in, even with the best efforts of Nader and the Supreme Court to throw the race his way.

Because I want him to soo bad. This guy would be cake in the General. If I could be assured of a Romney candidacy, I would not be as hesitant to support Obama Or Hillary.
McCain worries me, we have to put our most electable up verses him. Thats Edwards.

cause he appears to be sane.

I agree that he's the only sane one in the GOP race. But can anyone name one sane GOP VP pick? ;)
What would Lincoln do?

as a total boot-licker for Bush.
He's 100% in bed with the worst President in modern history.
If McCain's the nominee, we run against Bush 100%!

The Drunken Sailor rhetoric, the revisionist history of opposing the "Rumsfield" strategy.
Trying to tie McCain to Bush will not be easy.

if we are to win in November.

...we haven't been running against Bush, in the same way they are running against him to Reagan.
Please don't tell me you feel sorry for Ben. Ben is a well cared for dalmatian and has not been harmed by my political views.

compared to what exactly? What else do they have?

anytime he is asked a question for which he doesn't have a programmed response.
He'll never win.

There is a reason that, despite the msm, Romney keeps winning and has so many more delegates than McCain. Republicans hate McCain.
by Nihilvor on Sat Jan 19, 2008 at 08:38:24 PM PDT
But they gotta realize that Romney's unelectable.
In the end the Repubs will swallow hard and not give us the gift that is Mitt Romney.

my mom thinks McCain is sleeze. not sure about Dad, but he votes for the party where as Mom's been known to stray. Not sure who she would vote for in the primary, she's too smart to vote for Romney, not into bible thumpers, has heard more than enough on Rudy via me :) and she thinks McCain is slime. hmmm . . . .
yeah, i'd hate to be an intelligent republican about now. . .

And he had a natural constituency there.
Nevada and Wyoming do not really count since they where uncontested, and the number of delegates gained from each where small. These early states are about building MO into FEB 5th. SC was worth much more.
by GunLovinDem on Sat Jan 19, 2008 at 08:41:37 PM PDT
SC was not "worth more." And with the delegates split up, Romney received about the same number of delegates as McCain did today.
