All that Ethanol is not good for you or the environment.
Stopping the ethanol pandering would make killing the Iowa caucus worth it regardless of the other considerations.
You're right Kos. Iowa has had its turn and Iowa blew it. The process in Iowa is corrupt and undemocratic.

...just like how absurd the Electoral College is, and yet, nothing ever changes.

East? Ain't this democracy thing a bitch?

just like the issue (the ONLY issue if you think about it) of fair and tranparent elections (i.e. election reform and the related questions of electronic vs. paper, etc), and it always returns when it's already too late. Putting this diary on the front page now is good of kos, but it's obviously a little late to actually change anything. America has a tough time reforming any of the detailed, unsexy things that matter (health care, campaign finance, election reform), but we keep hoping someone else will finally do it for us. Our elections resemble lotto in a way, and we political wonks resemble wishful gambling addicts--although even lotto has winners and is verifiable.

The caucuses violate the VRA and ADA. Just needs some Iowa voters to file suit.

This pisses me off so much. Only 100,000 people caucus in a state of millions. Iowa is hardly representative at all--thus, we get winners like W in 2000.
More and more states will join MI and FL in moving their primaries up--the national party can't keep taking delegates away.

The Washington State Democratic Party ignores the results from the Primary, which the Republicans embrace, and demand that we have a caucus. So, if you are handicapped, elderly, out of town or just too damn shy to speak up, you get NO say in who is the candidate chosen. It sucks. I was able to get myself elected as a Dean delegate to the district convention but I was quickly squashed by the Kerry crew. I felt I didnt even get to vote. It is awful.
Politics is like driving...if you want to go backwards, choose R. If you want to move forward, choose D.

aren't as hard to delete as a DKos account. Seriously, how do we change the caucus and the electoral college shtick? If we can't elected a progressive candidate for the President, can we change the voting systems?
