A welcome and fun read. I can't thank you and the other boots on the snow there enough. Really can't.
You do us proud. John Edwards is the BEST and he is represented well in you.
Thanks again and this diary is Highly Recommended.

It's FREEZING! I've never been in such cold weather...I'm sure the Iowans would scoff at me!
Thanks for the compliments. I do this for you. I do this for all of us. I know it sounds cheesy but I really believe that Edwards will change our country, we just have to give him a shot.

secret is MITTENS - When it gets colder than a certain temperature (which varies for each person) the only thing that will work is mittens.
It took my husband fifteen years to convince me of this but now I am a mitten evangelist.
Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?

It's all ugly, tight knit hat over the ears, scarf, long heavy coat, boots, socks, layered top and mittens.
Hugs and hot chocolate...
Are you going to a caucus? Which precinct?

So much heat loss out the top of one's head, especially with wet hair! I'd call you a mittevangelist but that's a little to referential to a certain R candidate...

that I do know that you are doing this for me. I take it very very personally what you are doing. It means more to me than you could ever know. Truly. I would give a lot to be there and tramping through the snow with you.
Doesn't sound "cheesy" at all that you believe Edwards will change our country. He will and so will you.
Please stay warm and I hope our affection for you will help - a little.
Big bone crushing hugs to all of you there.

I, too, have immense respect for sarahlane and the tireless volunteers who are carrying the load for all of us.

for JRE, and for our country. You make us proud. But especially for the little "extras" like sending individual, handwritten thank you notes to contributers thru your Act Blue page. I made sure those bumper stickers you so generously tucked in the envelopes got distributed, and placed on bumpers in Iowa, where I am now. I have a very busy day tomorrow, with doorhanger canvassing of identified supporters in a neighboring town, and today was pressed into service as a visiting "precinct captain" in yet a different town. I had planned to help my sister with her caucus, but because they are anticipating JRE taking at minimum 8 of the 11 delegates, I get to meet a bunch of new, elderly folks and hopefully be of help at their even smaller caucus.
If there's time afterwards, and I can find a nearby motel vacancy, I plan to make the 70 minute drive to Des Moines for some celebrating, possibly meeting you and DK buddies.

You're in Iowa???? How did I not know that? I'd love to meet you!!! Email me at sarahlane46@hotmail.com Hope you can make it out to Des Moines....I'll be there!
Sending thank you cards was the least I could do. You Kossacks who gave so generously to the campaign made all this possible. Thanks so much!

...that's for you, too, sgary! Please make sure you celebrate for all of us, too.
