These are really importatnt issues. They don't evoke the passion of Iraq or other hot-button issues, but where a candidate stands says a lot.
And yes, Ron Paul is nuts.

I appreciate this diary, because now we're talking about stuff that really matters to me.

if so, this could be a tip jar. Generally I never use my TU status, though. I'm not sure I even still have it!
McCain is a Chode.

Just look below other people's comments. Do you have two options, "recommend" or "troll"? If so, you have the dreaded TU status and you can frighten little newbies.

I still don't have it back (I've been out of the action for a while, too overloaded with work).

BTW - I've found that the quickest way to get TU status back is to comment a lot and always, ALWAYS, give mojo to others' comments that you like, especially to those you reply to.
Some folks prefer a map and finding their own route. Others need someone to tell them where to go.

I'm not a scientist but worked to a program that funded a ton of grants to get young scientists face time at federal labs. This current administration so fouled the waters with political appointees and budget cuts that the program is a shadow of its former self. In particular two agencies specifically dumped our program at the behest of political appointees as punishment for not being loyal partisans.
My old job isn't coming back but I still care deeply and passionately about growing the next crop of scientists. They will be the ones to save our bacon as the polar caps melt....
