some of you will disagree with Senator Obama for any number of reasons, but you should have the facts and links to make up your own mind.
I'm confident that, like most Americans, the more you get to know Senator Obama, the more you will find to like about him.
That's true for me.
For myself, I was just happy to see that Gil Cedillo had endorsed Senator Obama. When I called D-Day doing outreach into the Los Angeles area, he told me to contact Christy at Gil's office and I was just really, really impressed with how they partnered with us and helped bring "Jose" to YearlyKos Chicago. We owe him thanks for that.

humanity. Our brothers and sister of the human race are hiding in the shadows and being demonized by some of our leaders for political gain.
It's one of the saddest parts of our current political climate. Thanks for the great diary again k/o.

to try to fix problems by smashing them. It is even more natural to pick the most defenseless targets. But the way to build a healthy and equitable economic system is not to target one portion of our workforce.
Sure we can make it illegal to move to the place with better jobs and a chance at building a future. We can bar millions from ever becoming citizens. If we want to we can bar their kids from becoming citizens for 3,4,5 generations. We don't have to stop at blocking drivers licenses. We could make it illegal to sell undocumented workers food or medical attention. We could make it a crime to educate their children or rent to them or marry them. They are criminals, right? They deserve what they get? Besides, if we treat them like humans they will just multiply.
That way of thinking might be natural, but we are better than that. People who live here and work here and send their children to school here are a part of our community. Marginalizing segments of our society only makes them more poor, less integrated, and a heavier burden on our economy and our national conscience.

THanks for writing this diary. Immigration reform is not an issue that gets a lot of attention on this blog, but it is one of the most vital issues of our time. We can't let the racists and xenophobes set the agenda and try to play "catch-up." We have to declare this is a human-rights issue. We are all immigrants in this country, for God's sake.
The whole controversy about drivers licenses for illegal immigrants is absurd. Of course they should get them. Hillary knows that they should as well, but she is just doing what is politically palatable.
Obama is taking a risk in the general election by stepping out on this issue, but I am proud of him for standing up for what's right.

This is clearly a case where irrational hatred and paranoia have overcome good sense. I personally know several people who have died because Latinos and others, who often must drive to work but can't get licenses, are on the streets.
My Compa's baby sister, Cruzjesusita, an angel if there ever was one, died in a car wreck w/migrantes who--of course--fled the scene. Other examples abound. We are much better off if drivers--many of whom never drove in Mexico, but took busses--learn how to drive and are properly licensed and insured!!!

interests that Clinton takes.
Let me point out the obvious:
Candidates will say whatever people want to hear.
Obama's "new" politics will be more of the same corporate driven, anti-middle class non-representation.
