Last political figure on the Court was Sandra Day O'Connor. She was Senate Majority Leader here in Arizona, and a damn good one. God, I wish she was still on the Court instead of Scalito!!!

although i tend to think of her more as a jurist than a legislator, she was in fact a very accomplished politician.
perhaps nothing is better evidence of this than the fact that she was able to parlay her legislative experience and relationship with rehnquist into a seat on the court!

at Stanford. I'll never forgive Rehnquist for his Voter Suppression activities in South Phoenix (mostly Black & Brown) in the mid-60's. That's how he got his bona fides w/the party, kinda like Olson, Terwiliger and that bunch today--some things never change!!!
