You nailed it.
It's pretty simple for Dems and you Hillary supporter's can cry and moan about it all you want.
If Hillary wins the Dem nomination, we lose the general election...end of story.

from both sides -
can we kill that meme yet and get on with just electing the best candidate?

We can reiterate once again that if Hillieberman is the nominee, we will have President McCain.
Any questions?
Barack Obama and the Democratic Party sold out the Constitution for the telcoms. They've lost my vote in 2008. I'm voting Green.

You have noticed people sort of dislike your intentionally inflammatory bullshit, right?
Someone wanna spot me a donut for Hilllieberman? Seems to be this one's favorite spam.

Stop attacking people in this diary. I don't think the term is respectful, but it isn't troll worthy.

Your diary is bringing out the nasty little anti-Clinton nuts. Sorry if I've lost patience for them.

lorelynn gave me first troll rating, ever. Was a fun night.
I'm doing her a disservice, though, if I'm supposed to be her stand in. Senator Clinton couldn't win my vote in the primary for anything.
by Marcus Tullius on Sat Feb 16, 2008 at 12:05:55 AM PDT
sound more like her to me.
There are many reasonable arguments against Clinton. Falling back on sophomoric name calling only weakens your argument and you end up using the same tactics the diary is about. You can't complain about mud flinging when your hands are covered in it.

The only way dem are sure to loose in November is if we keep repeating right wing crap about our possible nominees, or if Hillary does win it - everyone takes there ball and goes home.
by ETinKC on Fri Feb 15, 2008 at 11:41:32 PM PDT
Hilllieberman?
No problem with that.

both dems and independents and plenty of republicans who love Hillary and hate obama. Some that won't vote for him because he is black or they think he isn't "christian" enough (which I have a feeling is code for black or muslim - but who knows) i also know plenty who can't stand Hillary. Plenty more on both sides of the isle who hate McCain and others who could at least find themselves voting for him over other republicans.
The point is that it is all just bullshit observations and there is know way we have a statistically significant enough sample to know right now how people feel - never mind what it means for the general election in 9 months.
by ETinKC on Fri Feb 15, 2008 at 11:50:45 PM PDT
I hope you're right and I'm wrong but I just don't see it, if Hillary wins the nomination that sucking sound you hear will be all the air coming out of the Democratic momentum in a year when the Republicans have no business being even close to the Presidency.
by Jeff Y on Fri Feb 15, 2008 at 11:56:45 PM PDT
And Independents that say just the opposite. And they live in swing states like Iowa and Colorado. Really, how does anybody with negatives in the high 40's expect to get elected?

but have not actively supported either.
by ETinKC on Sat Feb 16, 2008 at 12:49:18 AM PDT
folks too...
But no way I get intimidated by them.
I don't know why Hillary cant say what John said at the biginning of the primary. He said, if you aint voting for Obama b'c he is blackl, and if you aint voting for hillary b'c she is female, I don't want your votes.
Now, that is a leader talking. I just can't see Hillary doing what john did I just can't imagine her as a democrat.

through a brokered convention, we will lose the general election.
If she pulls off the mother of all political comebacks and wins the nomination by taking a pledged delegate lead, she may be able to win the general. It will be tough. The first thing she needs to do is fire Mark Penn.

...not only the republicans will win again, she will destroy the democratic party.
She is not running as a democrat, but a rove republican. It is all about winning for her.
by RedMask on Sat Feb 16, 2008 at 12:41:30 AM PDT
because so many people know it it true.
as for getting on with electing the best candidate, i agree with charlotteford that the best candidate is the one most likely to beat the Republicans, and that is definitely Obama. HRC is not bringing in new voters, swing voters, independents or republicans to the same extent as O, and her negatives are way higher. End of story.
