The "Xerox line" is indeed petty and therefore benefits Obama.
What if she is trying to set up a solid Obama win in OH & TX? Like a volleyball player setting up a teammate for a spike?
Obama winning OH & TX by ten points would be the best possible momentum for November.

Derived from Hanlon's derived from Occam's.
Never attribute to superior "strategerizing" what can be explained by mere ineptitude.
So no, I don't think she was setting up the teammate for a spike. Against her better judgment (I hope), she followed the advice of one or more of her more aged and cynical advisors who thought the line was a good idea. She still had a sense, which they were lacking, that it erased the difference between them and the Atwater-Rove lineage of their enemies. I don't think we'll be hearing any more of that from Hillary. Not if she wants to preserve her reputation and her legacy.

...would be to stretch it further.
I like "Springtime in Pennsylvania", myself. The longer we don't have a nominee, the harder we are to attack.
We should run this show for another 2 months and make CNN and MSNBC cough up hours of free time for us.
This only works as long as Hill's 527s don't go negative, of course.
