not address it.
Just step around it.
It rubs the loofah on its skin or else it gets the falafel again.

That was Kerry's approach to swiftboating, and it hurt him badly. Bullshit needs to be fought head on.

If Obama can win, ignoring this ridiculous crap then it's gone. Not just patriotism... all of it.
Ignore all of it and win on top of that.

It's best to call it what it is, and address it head on so it doesn't seep into peoples minds as plausable if it continues. Kerry ignored the swift boat liars, thinking the same way you do. It cost him just enough votes to lose the election.

Don't address the issues much, ridicule the GOP leadership for being tone deaf, brain damaged, and out of touch.

the issue has to be debunked or some will still believe it. It has to be addressed head on for the lie that it is.

There's the Youtube of video of Obama leading the Pledge in the Senate. You put that in campaign commercials a thousand times. You NEVER REPEAT the attack.

Which means I probably ought to delete my diary...oh well... Heh.
But I think you're right, you just show Obama being what the vapid symbols purport to represent.
I'd love to get some video from his early organizing days.

It's OK to discuss stuff like that strategically, but not as part of a response.

I said Debunk it. You show one good way of doing that. Ignoring it is not going to make it go away.

In this media climate, bullshit has legs and will follow you around if you don't incinerate it.
It's appalling that mainstream media outlets are going to anonymous emails and slime merchants for their sources - and are granted credibility! Important villagers stroke their chins and cluck over Obama's unfortunate lapses.
It's to puke.
