I would (safely) hazard a guess that without DailyKos Howard Dean would not be the head of the DNC.

I'm not the authoritative source, because I pretty much stayed on Dean's blog. But I'm pretty sure Markos was not in the Clinton's camp. (I always thought those were the gates he wanted to crash.) IIRC, he liked both Dean and Clark. I don't remember where he went after Dean screamed/dropped out.
